Electrical Certificate
The Correct name for an Electrical Certificate is a ‘Electrical Inspection Condition Report’ (EICR), formally known as a Periodic Condition Report.
The purpose for this report is to ascertain the condition of the electrical installation. You can look at it like an MOT for your property. After the test you will recieve a report with with the condition of the installation. This will have any ‘Observations’ that may need remedial work.
There are few reasons for the installation to be tested. One reason could be for a house sale, which is quite common nowadays. Another could be that the old test has expired.
The testing that is carried out is the same for all types of installation however the electrical certificate may differ. A Domestic, Commercial or Industrial environment all have the same type of tests carried out.
