Ellesmere port Electrical Installation
LED lighting
We where asked to install some new Led lighting in this wharehouse area. We chose to use 6ft LED batton fittings suspended from the roof with chains.
The customer is going to use the area for storage and also maintence of machinery. We new the size of the room which enabled us to design the lighting system to suit the customers needs. We calculated the number of lights required to give him the right amount of light thats required for him to work comfortably.
The added bonus of the LED lights is the low running costs, there is a cost saving of 30% compared to the ‘old style flurescent lights’ when it comes to running costs. Another added bonus for the use of LED lights is that the lamp life is extended considerably and there is no deterioration over time, you get the full capacity of light for the entire duration of the life of the lamp.
Sockets and Power
Due to the structure of the building we decided to use cable tray and steel wire armoured cable for the sockets and power. This type of installation is very durable and isn’t easily damaged. The sockets we used where also metal clad which are hard wearing and the best for this situation.
The sockets were wired in a conventional ring circuit. They were installed around the wharehouse and where located high enough to be out of the way of any objects leaning against the walls but at a height that is still accesible and safe to use. The customer is going to be installing a work bench around some of the external walls for storage and tools.
Small Fuse Board
A small fuse board was fitted in the wharehouse for the sockets and lights that were installed. Seperate circuits where installed for the lighting and the sockets. Also a circuit was installed for Burgular Alarm.
